It’s Eclipse Glasses Time Again for American Paper Optics
MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE., April 24th, 2019
American Paper Optics, the largest 3-D glasses manufacturing company in the world and the single biggest supplier of eclipse glasses for the 2017 U.S. total eclipse, has been preparing the past 18 months for the next big eclipse that will cross South America on July 2nd. The company has already produced over 2 million glasses, as well as a 32-page booklet, videos and other promotional materials, for the eclipse that will cross Chile and Argentina in just over 2 months.
The eclipse will move west to east along the path of totality, a swath in which the moon will fully block the sun for up to three minutes. Cities in the path include La Serena, Coquimbo, La Higuera and Vicuna in Chile and San Juan, La Rioja, San Luis, Cordoba, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires in Argentina.
American Paper Optics CEO John Jerit hopes to sell over 5 million solar glasses for the event that is expected to draw millions of people close to the path of totality.
“We’re extremely excited to be entering the South American market with our safe solar glasses. It’s always been about providing the safest glasses with the best quality for us,” Jerit said.
American Paper Optics is developing South American relationships in other ways. In addition to forming partnerships with the astronomy community, the firm has adopted a school in Chile’s Coquimbo region.
The company provided the grade-school, Domingo Faustino Sarmiento, eclipse glasses for all the students and faculty and a large supply of their 32-page booklets that teach about the upcoming eclipse.
American Paper Optics urges viewers to practice safety precautions by wearing our ISO and CE certified solar glasses. APO's safe solar glasses block the harmful ultraviolet and infrared rays of light that come from the sun and are essential for viewing the partial phases that precede and follow totality.
"This will be one of the most impressive celestial events people will ever see, and this historic moment is something major corporations, companies and organizations of all sizes can participate in at a very low cost. We encourage everyone to order early since the demand is expected to be extremely high," Jerit said.
American Paper Optics has created a variety of commemorative South American eclipse glasses for the July 2nd event. Eclipse glasses from American Paper Optics can be purchased online at www.eclipseglasses.com
